About Me

Liz Agather

OWNER/Founder

Liz has over 20 years of working with students and athletes.  She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she competed as a D1 athlete in springboard diving and earned honors as a Distinguished Military Graduate of the Army ROTC program.  Liz served for 20 years as an Army officer with a final assignment as the Professor of Military Science at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she worked closely with their admissions office. She has a UCLA College Counseling Masters-level Certificate (with distinction), Masters in Strategic Intelligence and is a member of multiple college admissions professional organizations, including the Independent Educational Consultant's Association (IECA). She recently served as the Chair of IECA's Subcommittee on College Affordability (SOCA) and currently serves as Co-Chair of IECA's College Affordability Affinity Group (CAAG).

For years, Liz has enjoyed helping students and families lower the stress of the college admissions process and is passionate about the importance of the right fit school/path and college readiness. While she is familiar with the performing arts process and military options, she works with all types of students, including military dependents who are applying as first-generation college applicants and families new to the admissions process. Liz limits her practice to NC students.
As a mom of two college graduates, Liz’s passion for working with students and her desire to make the college planning process less stressful for families inspired her to start her college consulting business. She enjoys offering free application support to underserved populations and is committed to affordability, access, and college readiness.

When she's not meeting with students and parents, Liz visits campuses, attends national conferences, workshops, and seminars to remain current with college admissions and financial aid trends. In her free time, Liz enjoys fostering puppies and volunteering for Saving Grace, a local non-profit and she is a member of several running groups and the Finley YMCA.  She recently retired from 11 years of coaching springboard diving at Wood Valley Swim and Racquet Club.
